Batu Sumpah Peringatan Mengikut Perlembagaan

I stumbled up this particular picture about "Oath Stone" that was errected by the local chiefs of Keningau in 31-8-1964. For young generation, you may be never heard of this Oath Stone.

I would like to refresh your mind, below is the Oath Stone in Keningau.

It reads as below:
BATU SUMPAH PERINGATAN
MENGIKUT PERLAMBAGAAN
1. UGAMA BEBAS DALAM SABAH
2. TANAH2 DALAM SABAH DI-KUASA OLEH KERAJAAN SABAH
3. ADAT ISTIADAT ANAK RAKYAT SABAH DI-HORMATKAN DAN DI-PELIHARA OLEH KERAJAAN
SABALEK PULA RAYAT2 SABAH DI-DALAM INTERIOR BERSUMPAH TA'AT SETIA KAPADA KERAJAAN MALAYSIA.

The English translation for the above is:

Oath Stone base on the principles of federal constitutions:
1. Freedom of religion in Sabah
2. Government of Sabah holds authority over lands in Sabah
3. Native traditions and customs should be respected and preserved by Malaysia Government.
The people of Sabah pledge the loyalty to the federation of Malaysia based on this principles.

So I think  based on the spirit of freedom of religion in Sabah, Malaya should stop the madness about the "Allah" issue. They should respect the wishes of the people in Sabah. We must uphold the freedom of religion in Sabah.

  2. But, be cautious about the last phrase of the oath. Doesn't it meant for something?
