Well-preserved Ming Dynasty mummy found

The well-preserved remains of a woman, believed to be from the Ming Dynasty, was excavated in China.

Road workers in Taizhou city of Jiangsu province made the discovery by accident.

The mummy, which is 1.5m-tall and in her 50s or 60s, was wearing traditional Ming costume and shoes made of cotton.

Also found were a blanket, a wooden pillow, some papers and other relics.

From the items in the coffin, archaeologists believed she was a commoner of the dynasty that had ruled China between 1368 and 1644.
