INSTEDT Preparing For University College Status in 2014

It was reported recently that Institute of Science and Technology Darul Takzim (INSTEDT) eyes university college status in 2014. This move certainly will improve our education sector in Malaysia to a higher level, where students have more options to further their studies.

Currently, INSTEDT college offerings many diploma level programmes include diploma in legal secretarial, diploma in Islamic studies, diploma in digital media graphics and diploma in Islamic banking. With the new courses, they expect to receive about 800 students this coming April 2013.

According to INSTEDT Executive Chairman Datuk Mohd Sharul Azila Salleh, INSTEDT is now preparing documentation to be sent to the Ministry of Education. In the meantime, INSTEDT is looking forward to collaborate with international universities in South Korea in terms of curriculum development and student exchange.

Presently, INSTEDT collaborates with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in a few courses which include diploma in office management & technology and diploma in sports studies.

Hopefully INSTEDT will be able to get university college status in 2014. With proper planning and hardwork, I belive is will be very much possible.
